OCEAN WARRIOR
Mole Energy onboard with Foundation Expedition
Gearing up to gather vital oceanographic data to monitor climate and planet pollution
Mole Energy is incredibly proud to support Ocean Warrior’s Foundation Expeditions and team of novice explorers, naturalists, citizen scientists and full-time scientists dedicated to climate science through the monitoring of planet pollution, climate and the gathering of vital oceanic data.
Led by renowned explorer Jim McNeill, the Foundation Expedition sets sail for the Svalbard archipelago, in September, on the magnificent SV Linden; going to extremes where scientists seldom visit and using the lightest of carbon footprints. Jim’s experience of extreme environments has seen him work with the BBC on productions such as Frozen Planet, Human Planet, Last Explorers, and Natural World series.
Covering between 2,000 and 4,000 nautical miles, the expedition is setting out to prepare the SV Linden; testing methods, procedures and protocols in addition to installing and testing scientific and technological equipment. All in preparation for Ocean Warrior’s Resolute Expedition in 2024.
Resolute Expedition, from June to October 2024, will go on to survey a 10,000 nautical mile transect each year for the next 10 years. Over that time they will measure, benchmark, monitor and report on changes they discover in the oceans explored.
